With SRVC's Master Coaching System, all of our athletes go through the same practice plans and get the same excellent level of training, no matter what team they are on!
Our coaching philosophy sets us apart from other clubs in the area, thanks to our Master Coaching System. Joe Bonner, our Technical Director and former Division I Volleyball College Coach, oversees our comprehensive training protocol. He incorporates techniques from the U.S. National Team, Division I colleges, and top club teams nationwide. The Master Coaching System ensures that all players and coaches in our club learn a consistent set of techniques and terminologies widely used in the volleyball community. All of our athletes follow the same practice plans and receive the same excellent level of training, regardless of their team, guaranteeing cohesive, high-quality training across all teams.
Practices are designed with a specific focus on skill progression and competitive play. This philosophy enables all club members to learn foundational skills such as footwork, hand techniques, and on-court decision-making. Players can build upon these foundational skills, increasing their proficiency quickly and allowing them to potentially fill in for an absent player on another team within the club. This approach ensures that our student-athletes master the skills necessary for all positions on the court, making them versatile and proficient in multiple roles.
Throughout the season, Coach Joe collaborates with each of our team coaches to develop and implement our practice and training plans. Each coach works closely with Coach Joe to provide feedback on tournament performance, including areas needing improvement. This interaction guides the direction for future practices.
We strongly believe in total conditioning and proper nutrition for our athletes. Our training program incorporates overall fitness, agility, flexibility, and strength training into our practices. This program is specifically designed for volleyball conditioning and includes sessions with a certified yoga instructor. Additionally, a certified nutritionist works with our teams to teach proper nutrition and hydration for peak athletic performance. This support includes fostering balanced, healthful eating habits that benefit athletic performance now and promote a healthy lifestyle in the future. We also offer sports psychology seminars to help our athletes maintain and enhance their overall health, fitness, performance, and endurance.
